I went to New England Tech for IT (information technology) for 2 years, unfortunately due to financial hardships at the time I could not finish, I had a month left until I graduated. |

This depends on the condition of your media and what caused the failure. Data recovery could take anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of weeks. This also depends on what type of recovery process has to be performed to recover your data. Some processes are more intense than others. Also if your partition table is corrupted this will take longer to repair. |

Only if you know what you are doing. You could actually cause more damage than good, making recovering your data harder or impossible. |
